With the growth in home control manufacturers porting Flash to their device Control4 has launched its own Flash based developers community.  The community is to complement Control4 4Store application marketplace, a new Flash-based platform to deliver applications that extends device functionality developed on the Control4 OS 2.0 platform.

“We are incredibly excited to make a new platform available to the Flash development community,” said Eric Smith, Chief Evangelist for Control4. “The 4Store application marketplace gives flash developers the opportunity to utilize their existing skills to expand their market to millions of devices and to have their apps available on touch screens and TVs in every room of the home.”

The developers’ community and the Control4 platform allow flash developers to extend their skills into home appliances.  Control4 said, with minimal programming Flash developers can deliver the same entertainment, informational or social networking apps to home devices that they have created for mobile phones.

A key benefit of this initiative is developers can benefit by creating relationship with Consumer Electronics manufacturers such as Sony, Pioneer, LG and others.
