DLNA adds DTS, Promise Technology and CableLabs to Promoter Members Group

The DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is closing off the year on a high note after a busy 2010.  The Alliance has added three new companies to the existing 26 member in its promoter member group. With a new DLNA Lab in China, the Alliance is expanding it reach and expertise across sectors and geography. It now has members in different CE sectors such as service providers, consumer electronics and mobile device industries.

As Promotor Members DTS, Promise Technology and CableLabs along with the others are expected to actively lead more than 200 member companies in supporting networked interoperability among DLNA Certified devices in and beyond the home. “Each of these entities understands the importance of implementing standards-based technology to easily enjoy, manage and share content across a wide-range of devices.  We are delighted to welcome them as our latest Promoter Members," said Nidhish Parikh, chairman and president of DLNA.

DTS, Promise Technology and CableLabs are very active companies in providing solution for the consumer electronics sector, for their respective area of specialisation. By being promoter members they will help is promoting the work of the DLNA and make easier for consumer buying DLNA certified connected home solution. As it give them a peace of mind knowing that the devices are certified to work together.

"With the addition of CableLabs, DTS and PROMISE Technology at the Promoter Member level, DLNA is expanding its member company leadership with global expertise in the cable, multi-channel audio and storage industries,” Parikh.
