Gefen is demonstrating its upgraded GAVA (Gefen AV Automation) 3.0 system at CEA Line Show this week in New York.  The home automation platform, according to Gefen will make life easier by simplifying smart home automation and control.   GAVA can centralise the control of all your audio and video devices plus your window shades and Lutron lighting.

The GAVA when plugged in scan your home network looking for all the devices connected; it then feeds that information back to you via it web interface. You can then use a smartphone, tablet or computer to manage them.

Gefen’s PACS (Professional Automation Control System) and Mini PACS allow conventional IR or RS-232 controlled devices to be connected through GAVA. Then GAVA can create events using any device that communicates with the system, including Lutron RadioRA2, HomeWorks QS or GRAFIK Eye QS light switches mounted on the wall.

“We want to make GAVA just as easy to automate and control the environment as flipping a switch,” said Orrin Charm, automation product manager, Gefen.“The goal of GAVA has always been to bring automation to the home easily and with zero programming skills required. The new event triggers feature in GAVA 3.0 helps make this goal a reality.”
