GreenWave has partnered with NXP Semiconductor to develop a new intelligent lighting control and management solution.  The solution is a combination of GreenWave Reality energy management platform with NXP’s GreenChip.  It will allow manufacture of energy-efficient compact fluorescent (CFL) and solid state light to create lights that we can communicate with individually.

The GreenWave Reality smart lighting solution works by connecting to the NXP GreenChip-enabled light bulbs wirelessly.  You can dim or turn lights on and off using Home, Away, and Night Smart Controls from any combination of devices such as a PC, tablet, smartphone or your television.

The system can be extended to work with smart lighting controls such as light or motion sensors without requiring any re-wiring of the home. For example, a Smart Control can adjust indoor lighting according to outdoor lighting conditions. Other Smart Controls can automatically turn lights off when no one is in a room.

The GreenWave intelligent lighting platform supports NXP's GreenChip smart lighting solution running JenNet-IP, the industry's most advanced IPv6-based 6LoWPAN stack along with Z-Wave, ZigBee.

This partnership has made it easier for us to make the devices in our home smarter; going forward everything in our home might have an Ipaddress. This is evident in the current testing and eminent roll out of IPv6, which we think is being accelerated by the increase growth in connected devices.
