Lee County Florida Selected Oracle Smart Grid Solutions

meterLee County Electric cooperative (LCEC), a utility provider in southwest Florida has selected three of Oracle’s smart grid and metering solutions. The solutions selected are Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle utilities Meter Data Management and Oracle Utilities Smart Grid Gateway.

By investing in an all-Oracle platform the LCEC is able to consolidate storage of customers metering data, allowing the LCEC to provide near real time usage and cost information to customer, said Oracle.  Additionally, LCEC selected Oracle Utilities Smart Grid Gateway to provide a single point of connection between existing and future smart grid devices and applications.

LCEC plans to improve the information it presents to its 200,000 customers through its web self-service, by integrating Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management and Oracle Utilities Customer care and Billing. LCEC is also hoping to see a decrease in customer call volume with the help of the web self service.

Oracle said there are plans for LCEC to upgrade its existing Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing applications.
