Mindspeed’s Adds DECT-ULE To Comcerto 2000 Processor

Mindspeed is collaborating with DSP Group to offer DECT-ULE wireless solution to the home gateway and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) applications market.  Both companies announced plans to merge the technologies to meet the requirements of the advanced gateway market, offering sophisticated telephony and home automation.

DECT-ULE base devices are for home automation and other Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication. There are already more than 500 million homes utilizing DECT base technology. Its low power consumption radio makes it an ideal solution allowing for interference-free spectrum, long range, low cost, easy installation.

According to both businesses, “the joint solution will meet and exceed the requirements of the advanced gateway market, offering sophisticated telephony and home automation”. Comcerto 2000 is an ARM Cortex-A9 powered solution that is ideal for running OSGI or Android base platforms.

“DECT-ULE on board solution will enable a new class of broadband subscriber services including home automation, security, energy management and e-healthcare,” said Marco E. Bello, Executive Director of Marketing and Product Management in Mindspeed's Communications Processors Business Unit.
