New Roku SD & Roku HD-XR Instant Streaming Player
Roku recently added two more devices to its range of media streamers; these were the Roku SD and Roku HD-XR media players. The Roku media players allow you to stream instant entertainment from Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand and MLB.tv. The Roku players come in three different price range $79.99, $99.99, $129.99. Roku also announced that they will be launching a channel store where customers can add new content channels to their Roku device.
The Roku SD player is the entry level model media streamer. The system features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and an Ethernet port for broadband internet access. The Roku SD player connects to your TV and offer up to DVD picture quality.
The Roku HD and HD-XR are of a higher specification. IT offer high definition streaming capability using its HDMI or Component Video connector. According to Roku the Roku HD-XR is the first Netflix – streaming device to embed next generation 802.11n dual-band wireless connectivity. The Roku HD-XR is backward compatible with older model routers and has a USB port for future use.
