Oregan Networks has collaborated with Widevine to provide video optimization and digital rights management for Oregan’s Onyx media browser. The Widevine video optimization and DRM platform will be integrated into Onyx to provide adaptive streaming, virtual DVD controls and secure delivery of premium content.  The new solution will enable customers to gain access to premium content and enjoy a high-quality viewing experience on their Internet-connected television.

The Onyx media browser was developed to meet the growing number of services being offered via the web.  As a web delivery platform for connected TVs and hybrid IP-set top box, Onyx provides an easy-to-use rich graphical interface, to enhance users’ entertainment experience.

“By implementing Widevine’s DRM, studios can be assured that their digital rights are being protected, thereby allowing distribution of more content over-the-top to connected devices.  This provides over customers with access to and even wider range of content available over the internet,” said Mark Perry, Oregan Networks’ CEO.
