With Vulkano installed on your handsets you have total control over everything that comes through your set-top box.  “You can watch and control any home TV channel through a wired, Wi-Fi or 3G connection from any were in the world,” said Mansoon. “We designed Vulkano from the ground up to replace single purpose solutions such as TiVo, Roku, Slingbox, etc.” The Vulkano platform offers five next generation digital home solutions: TV Placeshifting, Universal Plug and Play, Digital Video Recording, Internet Video Play Back, and Mobile Video Recording.

The Vulkano is UPnP (Universal Plug n Play) compatible so there is no need for you to read setup manuals when connecting to other UPnP compatible devices. After setup you should be able to quickly upload wired or wirelessly your photos and videos from a digital camera, smartphone, computer and other media devices to view on your television. You also have the ability to search for content across the different devices connected to the Vulkano.

Vulkano web video support let you watch YouTube videos up to HD resolution (1080p) through a TV.  Support for other platform is in the pipeline.  Update to support Yahoo! Widgets is expected this year; Google TV, Netflix, Amazon and Cinema Now are expected later.

You can schedule the recording of TV programs to the Vulkano SD card or on a hard drive.  This can then be uploaded manually or automatically to your PC, smartphone, iPhone or iPad via wired, Wi-Fi or 3G – watch out for the bandwidth when using 3G.
