Triazz, a software solutions supplier of connected multimedia devices, and RMI, a provider of high-performance processors for communication and media rich applications, announced their partnership in developing a turnkey Home Media Player (HMP) solution.

The Alchemy-based turnkey HMP solution enables evolutionary wireless Digital Photo Frames and is targeted at media-based applications such as Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), Digital Signage, Information Dashboards and other home networking and consumer devices.

The Linux-based Triazz application is built upon RMI's ready-for-production, high performance Home Media Player reference design and is based on the Alchemy Au1250 Processor, the first HMP Processor solution. The Au1250, leverages high levels of integration and very low power to achieve performance up to 700MHz. The Au1250 Processor also includes a LCD controller with four graphics planes with 32-bit aRGB, and a Media Acceleration Engine (MAE) for D1 video decoding of a wide variety of formats including MPEG1/2/4, WMV, Divx, Xvid, and H.264.

"By working with Triazz and by offering the turnkey HMP Solution, RMI is able to continue driving the extension of the Digital Photo Frame and to make available unique capabilities that will transform the way media is brought into the home," said Mike Wodopian, vice president and general manager, RMI.

"Being part of this revolutionary solution is exciting," said Pratap Reddy, president and chief executive officer, Triazz. "This system takes advantage of our unique products and is able to amplify the value that our media-rich solutions offer the consumer media markets for these next generation home appliances."
