Vodafone has joined a global trend to be the next telecom operator to offer home telecom and entertainment services.  They have partnered with Entone to use their video networking platform EnterLink to offer the service.  According to Entone, Vodafone will be working with Entone and its system integration partner Divitel in the Netherland.

The partnership is to boost Vodafone's Thuis service, which includes telephony, Internet and Television. By using EnterLink's flexible networking options subscribers of the Thuis service will be able to access content wirelessley (802.11ac); MoCA HD over coax cabling and Boxless for multiple TVs from a single set-top box.

The Vodafone Thus service is deployed over the provider’s high-speed FTTH (Fibre to the Home) network to enable an array of advanced television services, including Pause Live TV (PLTV) and an extensive video-on-demand (VOD) library from public broadcasters, HBO, Videoland and many others.

"We see mobile operators increasingly moving into advanced video services, and this represents a major growth area for Entone that leverages our track record for quality and innovation", said Steve Mckay CEO of Entone. With EnterLink, operators can quickly and cost effectively deliver hybrid video services across a variety of IP devices throughout the connected home without requiring new wiring or the need for operator-provisioned set-top box.
