Entropic Communications has appointed Tom Luan as Vice President and General Manager of it China operation.  According to Entropic Mr Luan will oversee the development and implementation of business strategies for all Entropic product lines in China.  Prior to joining Entropic Mr Luan held senior position similar business, like NEC Electronics, Infineon and more.

Both men are added to strengthen Entropic’s position as a major player in the connected home entertainment market.

NXP & Entropic Showcase Set-Top Box Reference Design at IBC

The joint reference design will feature NXP's newly unveiled PNX847x/8x/9x, the world's first family of fully integrated 45-nm STB system-on-chip (SoC) platform incorporating multi-channel broadcast receivers and Entropic's third-generation Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA)  1.1-compliant EN251x single-chip network controller solution. The products are on view at this year’s International Broadcasters Convention (IBC) 2009 in Amsterdam.

Entropic EN2510Entropic Communications, a leading provider of silicon and software solutions to enable connected home entertainment is joining forces with the Intel Digital Home Group at the CableLabs Summer Conference 2009 in Keystone, Colo., to showcase the world's first demonstration of the newly ratified Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Quality of Service (QoS) 3.0 specification over MoCA on a set-top box (STB) platform. The demonstration utilizes Entropic's EN2510 single-chip, coaxial network controller and RF transceiver, which is based on the MoCA 1.1 standard and the Intel Media Processor CE 3100 system-on-a-chip (SoC) based on the company's popular Intel architecture.
