Introducing Honeywell New Smart Home Security System

Honeywell is launching a new home security solution through Indiegogo's Enterprise Crowdfunding service.  According to Honeywell, the system is a camera base station with an integrated 1080p HD camera and 145-degree viewing that will incorporate facial recognition with push notifications.  The camera base station is completely integrated with the Alexa Voice Service, which will allow the system to recognise voice commands. The smart home security system features indoor and outdoor sensors and motion viewers that can alert you if your doors or windows are opened. The camera base station and additional devices can be adjusted using a schedule, location-based geofencing, or customizable event and scene triggers.

Honeywell Selected For Thames Valley (UK) Smart Grid Project

Honeywell today announced a smart grid project that will help SSE plc connect up to 30 commercial and industrial buildings in the Thames Valley area west of London, and temporarily reduce electricity consumption when overall use spikes. This will help alleviate the potential for future transmission and distribution bottlenecks as the peak demand for energy grows. It will also enable building operators to decrease their energy use, utility bills and carbon dioxide emissions.

Honeywell and Opower To Develop Home Energy Management Solution

Opower and Honeywell announced plans to collaborate on the development of a home energy management solution.  Honeywell will offer its expertise in control system and Opower, their data analysis solution.  The first solution expected from the partnership is a Web-connected programmable thermostat that measures, analyze and reports on the homes' electricity use.

Motorola and Honeywell to Supply Connected Home Security Solutions

After a successful collaboration with Verizon to implement a home monitoring and control service, Motorola said they are teaming up with Honeywell security to offer a connected home security solution to service providers. Motorola is inviting cable and telecom service providers to top into this new revenue stream; by allowing customer more than the usual telephone, broadband and television service.
