Open IPTV Forum Published HTML5 Standard For Connected TV

Through a major collaborative effort the Open TV Forum has updated and published a new HTML profile for developers of Connected TVs.  The forum hopes that by providing clean and open standards for the smart TV platform it will accelerate the creation of a mass market for IPTV.  Supported by most of the major consumer electronics manufacturers, the standard defines the base specification for end-to-end IPTV devices and services of the future.

Netia Selected Netgem Hybrid IPTV Technology for Poland

Netia a multi-screen television service provider based in Poland has chosen to build its hybrid IPTV solutions on Netgem. Netia started as a fixed line broadband provider expanded added voice and now they are adding Netgem services to offer the complete triple play experience.  Part of the agreement, is Netgem will provide Netia with its middleware and hybrid DTT/Internet Set-top boxes.

Etisalat Selected SoftAtHome and Huawei End-to-End IPTV Solution

Etisalat has selected SoftAtHome and Huawei jointly developed turnkey end-to-end IPTV solution. The solution combines SoftAtHome client software platform SoftAtHome Operating Platform (SOP) together with Huawei turnkey end‐to‐end IPTV, OTT and Hybrid video solutions.  The solution is aimed at Operators to help them quickly deploy services for the Digital Home. Etisalat will use it to deploy its new multi-play service ‘eLife’.

TCT Deploys Hybrid TV With Entone FusionTV

Wyoming-based triple-play service provider, Tri-County Telephone (TCT) Association has selected Entone’s Fusion TV solution to offer hybrid TV services to its customers.  Already offing advanced digital TV with HD and DVR support, high-speed Internet and voice-over-IP residential services, TCT will now be able to offer a single point of interaction – the television.

Netgem To Outline "IPTV 2.0" Strategy At IP&TV World Forum

Netgem, will outline its "IPTV 2.0" strategy at the upcoming IP&TV World Forum in London and demonstrate its new Home Cloud software platform. Also as part of the IP&TV World Forum's conference programme, Christophe Aulnette, Netgem's CEO, will highlight Netgem's open strategy. Sigma Designs' SMP8652 Powers Verismo's Broadband TV Set Top Box

Verismo Networks has selected Sigma Designs’ System-on-Chip (SoC) solution to power its Broadband TV set-top box (STB). The Sigma Designs chip - SMP8652 Secure Media Processor, is a single-chip SoC solution that offers support for some of the latest STB technologies.  It has an on chip support for USB 2.0, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet and an advance decoder engine to power high definition videos. The Sigma SMP8652 media processor will give Verismo’s customers the necessary functions to help them migrate to the IP connected home.

SFR France Launched Home Gateway: Neufbox Evolution

SFR of France has left no stone unturned with its sixth generation Neufbox home gateway – dubbed Neufbox Evolution. The box is a set-top box and home gateway all in one; it offers IPTV multiscreen access, Femtocell connectivity, the ability to connect directly to ADSL and Fibre-to-the-home and a host of other functions. Users have the option to connect the Neufbox Evolution wired or wirelessly. The IPTV service offers over a hundred channels plus the option to save content locally. Prices start at 29.90 euros and vary depending on additional features.

Entone Offers FusionTV Mixed IPTV Platform To Telecoms
