MIPS is back this year At CES to show us how far they have reached with their Android work. The company has unveiled a new SmartCE (Connected Entertainment) platform. SmartCE is designed to provide a connected experience with integrated support for Home Jinni ConnecTV application, Adobe Flash Platform for TV, Android, Skype, social media and other platforms. MIPS and SysDSoft have announced that they have made a break through using Android technology. SysDSoft a supplier of mobile WiMAX and LTE embedded software solution for 4G has collaborated with MIPS to develop the industry’s first LTE protocol stack ported to the Android platform. MIPS and Yahoo have partnered to develop a platform with Yahoo Widgets already integrated. The agreement is that MIPS will develop an optimised reference platform running the Yahoo Widget Engine for digital TV and set-top box applications.  This partnership will enable vendors to develop consumer solutions based on the MIPS architecture incorporating Yahoo Widget Engine.
