Panamax announced a new compact and lightweight UPS battery back-up.  The system measures 10.25 inches length by 8.875 inches height by 4.375 inches width and weighs only 16 pounds.   A level down from the Panamax MB1000; the MB850 is an ideal power back-up solution for home theater applications with remotely located A/V equipment or space and weight constraints. Panamax announced the first product in its new line of UPS battery back-ups: the MB1000.  For home theater systems, the MB1000 prevents critical equipment from losing its setup configuration and stored data, while avoiding hard-disk crashes in the event of a sustained power event, such as a power outage.  In addition, the UPS safeguards projection bulbs by allowing them to cool down properly before shutting off, saving money on replacement costs.
