Introducing Nvidia’s Vehicle Infotainment Solution

CES 2015 was the first I heard of Nvidia DRIVE studio software, a package that can be used to develop car infotainment solutions.  For this year’s show Nvidia collaborated with Renovo Motors to develop a 500 horsepower all electric coupe.  As a first the car featured the Nvidia Tegra X1 mobile super chip which can offer over one teraflaps of processing power.

The connected life style should have a market potential of US $731 billion by 2020, this is according to Frost and Sullivan.  This figure includes revenue from all sectors that touches the connected home.  Cloud computing, mobility, low cost sensors, big data are driving the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected industries.

Comcast Adds New Product Services to Xfinity Platform

Xfinity Home has come a long way since its first launched back in 2012. Now Comcast said they will be opening the Xfinity platform for partner integration with the release of a Software Development Kit (SDK).  The new software tool will allow devices from Comcast partners to work seamlessly with the Xfinity Smart Home platform, offering more features and personalization.

Sony is offering Playstation gamers a new on-demand cloud based TV service called Palystation Vue.  Playstation Vue, according to Sony allows you to access live TV and on-demand content without a cable or satellite service.  Sony said the new service offers the best of live TV plus a comprehensive catalog of the latest content to viewers.

If you didn't get a Television deal in the Black Friday or Christmas sales then wait because the new BRAVIA televisions coming from Sony this year is worth looking over.  The new range has four new series and 10 new models to choose from with the added benefit, they offer 4k Ultra HD image quality. New features include better access to content and image quality, connectivity with Google Android TV plus direct access to Playstation games.

Sony To Bundle NanoTech UltraFlix App with New 4K Ultra HDTV

Onwers of the latest Sony 4K Ultra HDTVs are to be given access to the world’s largest library of 4K VOD content via the NanoTech UltraFlix app.  Starting with Sony's 2014 range viewers will be able to stream more than 300 hours of 4K quality travel and nature documentaries, including 40 made for IMAX theatrical titles and other genres.

ST and SoftAtHome Collaborate on HD Set-top Box Chipset

They had previously collaborated on a client server solution that llows Service Providers to stream content to multiple home appliances at the sametime. Now, STMicroelectronics and SoftAtHome have extended their partnersip to develop an Ultra High Definition (UHD) chipset that enables operators to offer enhance viewing experiences via their set-top box.
