VUDU Now Offers Disney Movie Download in HD

VUDU announced today that the VUDU service is the first to offer titles from Buena Vista Home Entertainment (now Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment) for download-to-own in high definition. Beginning today, VUDU users can select from a collection of over 60 titles featuring recent hits, such as Doubt and High School Musical 3, as well as past favorites, such as No Country for Old Men, The Sixth Sense and National Treasure. The selection of movies available to own in HD on VUDU will continue to expand as new titles are made available.

Movies offered in this collection will be available for purchase in both instant HD and VUDU's industry-leading HDX format. HDX is the highest quality on-demand format available anywhere on cable, satellite, broadcast, or the Internet. The expansion of VUDU's high definition download-to-own offering to include Buena Vista Home Entertainment is another first for the company that continues to lead the industry in high definition by offering the largest library of HD feature films and the highest AV quality available from any on-demand service.

VUDU plans to offer every HD release from Buena Vista Home Entertainment for purchase as those titles are added to the service, day and date with DVD release. All current films and subsequent additions to this HD collection from Buena Vista Home Entertainment's catalog will be available to purchase in instant HD and VUDU's industry-leading HDX format. High definition titles purchased from VUDU can be stored on the consumer's VUDU box.
