ARCHOS Launched Android Home Tablets

Web content and services have become more accessible with the release of the new ARCHOS Android Tablets.  Designed to enhance your digital lifestyle the ‘Home Tablet’ as they are called fill the gap between the Smartphone and the desktop PC to provide always on access to the internet.  The two devices ARCHOS 7 and ARCHOS 8 Home Tablets are flexible, accessible and interactive. They can be placed almost anywhere in the home to provide access to news and keep you in touch with your friends and family.

The ARCHOS Home Tablets are touch screen and comes with screen sizes ranging from 3” to 10”.  The Tablets bring the best of the web, multimedia,ARCHOS 7 Home Tablet real-time information and social networking into the home.  From the Tablets you can view photos, watch videos, listen to music, read the latest news from online news websites, email and update your favourite social sites.  Access to the web is provided by its built-in Wi-Fi which is connected to your home network wireless router.  The built-in USB port allows you to upload your favourite music, pictures and videos from your PC, digital camera, digital storage device or you can stream your videos from the web.

The ARCHOS 8 tablet is 12mm tick with 8” touch screen and weighs about 400g and has a 4GB disk space.  It was designed primarily for was browsing, web videos and services.  According to ARCHOS the ARCHOS 8 is equally at home in the kitchen, in the living room or office.  ARCHOS 8 Home Tablet is due out in May this year.

The ARHOS 7 while having the same capability of the ARCHOS 8 is more a Smartphone replacement.  It has a 7” touch screen and offers 7hour of video playback and up-to 44 hours of music, weighs about 350g.  They come in 2GB and 8GB internal disk space.
