iControl Adds Two Patents To Connected Home Portfolio

iControl is celebrating the reception of another Patent and another one in the pipeline, thus taking their overall world wide total to 24 home technology patents. The company said today that they have received US Patent Number 6,624,750, "Wireless Home Fire and Security Alarm System", a solution that will help them develop products that will better protect customer who use Z-Wave  and ZigBee wireless solutions.

According to iControl, “The '750 patent defines the core methodology used by both wireless mesh networking technologies in the management of devices such as motion sensors, thermostats and garage door openers”.

The other patent that they soon to receive is US Patent Number 8,612,591, "Security System with Networked Touchscreen", another solution that uses the Z-Wave and ZigBee protocol to integrated with a home security touch screen.

"For nearly a decade, iControl has prioritized investment and development in areas critical to the connected home, and we are thrilled to see our intellectual property portfolio continue to grow," said Richard Mosher, general counsel for iControl Networks.  “Developing and managing IP (Intellectual Property) that protects our customers is a key focus area for iControl as the connected home market explodes with new entrants."
