Landis+Gyr and MicroEJ Launch Custom Energy Apps Platform at CES

At CES this year Landis+Gyr partnership with MicroEJ introduced Gridstream Connect Apps as a part of the Gridstream Connect IoT solution portfolio.  The Gridstream Connect Apps is already in the market where is helps utilities to offer meter-based flexible billing, demand management used for billing and load management, along with apps that convert a smart meter into a distribution system sensor.

NETGEAR AirCard Won 2015 CES Innovation Award

NETGEAR's AirCard 785 4G LTE mobile hotspot has been named a 2015 CES Innovation Honoree in the Smart Home category.  The device is the world’s first “unlocked” 4G LTE mobile hotspot with simultaneous dual-band WiFi coverage. For homes that have no or limited fixed broadband connection, the AirCard 785 can be and ideal solution, offering 4G broadband connection.  Its unlocked state mean it is not automatically tied to a service provider's service plan.

2015 CES Smart Home Innovation Honorees

The results of the 2015 International CES honorees are out and the smart home category has 24 awardees. Again the organisors and calling it a success with the amount of manufacturers submitting their product up 14 percent increase. Each product is judged based on its overall engineering qualities related to technical specifications and material, aesthetics and design qualities; the product’s intended use and function; its unique features and how the design and innovation of the product compares to others in the marketplace. The connected car solution provider QNX has developed another connected concept car, which according one of the developers Alex James, takes the concept of a connected car to the next level.  Last year they modified a Bentley Continental but this year they are keeping the car identity under wrap until the show on January 7.

Connected Cars Are Back At 2014 International CES

The advance in communication technology has seen a convergence in home and car entertainment systems. As an indication the to this growing area of collaboration the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association), said they are expecting a record number of car manufacturers at 2014 CES showcasing their latest car technologies both inside and out.  A total of nine manufacturers are expected: Ford, Kia, Toyota, Audi, Chrysler, General Motors, BMW, Mercedes and Mazda.

The CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) judges have done their examination and have release the 2014 International CES list of Best of Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honorees. The judges look products across 28 consumer electronics product categories; they have also added extra categories this year: 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing and Wearable Technologies. The "Best of Innovations Design and Engineering Award" honors products and solutions that demonstrate outstanding design and engineering advancements. The CEA said they saw a record number of entries this year (See Photos).

Sony Scoop Four 2014 CES Best Of Innovations Honoree Awards

For 2014, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has awarded Sony four “Best of Innovations Honoree” Awards.  The honorees were picked from 28 consumer product categories, which now include 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, Wearable Technologies and In-Vehicle Experience. From these Sony was able to walk away with awards in Digital Imaging, Headphones, Home Audio/Video Components and Tablets, EReaders & Mobile Computing. To make it five their HT-ST7 Sound Bar received an Innovations Design and Engineering Award in the Home Theater Speakers category.

The 2014 International CES Best of Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honorees list is out. The Honorees are picked from 28 consumer products, such as home Audio/Video, Headphones and Tech For a Better world. This year the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) added three new categories: 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing, and In-Vehicle Experience and Wearable Technologies. The winners will receive their award at next year’s 2014 CES, which runs from January 7-10 in Las Vegas. Some of this year’s winners are: FormLabs, Tobii Technology, Sony Eletronics, Bruton, Novasentis, Plantronics, Kirk H&J Corporation, HARMAN International, Able Planet, Instabeat, Reebok & MC10, Bang & Olufsen, Pioneer Electronics and Philips Consumer Lifestyle.
