Affinegy Adds Sagemcom’s TR-069 ACS To Portal Platform

Affinegy has made a strategic move to acquire the Sagemcom’s TR-069 ACS (Auto Configuration Servers) Solutions Business. According to Affinegy the acquisition has allowed it to expand its product range with Sagemcom’s TR-069 ACS Subscriber Manager and FrontLine, which are now part of Affinegy’s Portal Platform. They have also gained more customers in Europe, Asia, Central/South America Africa and Japan.

The TR-069 standard define a protocol that allows operator’s Auto Configuration Servers (ACS) to communication devices in the customer’s home - define as customer-premises equipment (CPE). This means that through the ACS operators can safely configure and control in home devices.

With Subscriber Manager and FrontLine now part of Affinegy’s Portal Platform (which includes Operations Portal, Care Portal, Home Portal and Connect) the company said, they are now able to offer a modular and flexible solution that serves all part of the connected home. Through the Portal Platform portfolio, operators can auto-provisioning, management and offer self-care maintenance for IP video, voice, data and other services.

Since its been published and ratified, TR-069 has proven to be an effective method of managing TR-069 enabled devices such as: set-top boxes, routers, NAS units, eMTAs, advanced wireless gateways, femtocell and LTE devices.

With its Operations Portal ACS as the heart of the TR-069 platform Affinegy said, they now see their software portfolio as a universal global solution for all broadband service providers – xDSL, cable and wireless. Allowing service providers to manage devices that are TR-069-enabled, customer-owned or service provider-issued.
