UK Retail Chain Dixons To Offer Logik Smart TVs With Onyx Browser

Oregon Networks, the developer of the Onyx media browser for IPTV devices has announced that Dixons of the UK will be using their Onyx media browser in Dixons Logik Smart TVs. The Onyx browser will be on the Logik 23’ LCD TV (L23IPTV), one of Dixons exclusive brands. The TVs are schedule to be available in time for the Christmas shopping, online at and in outlets of Currys and PC world.

Oregon said UK customers of the new models will be able to access weather, news widgets, social networking and Video on Demand (VoD) services such as You Tube, Blinkbox, Lovefilm plus catch up TV.

Andrew Wilson, Dixons’ TVs Category Manager, said that he is excited about the integration of the Onyx browser in the Logik range and that it shows their “comment o offering our customers an unbeatable combination of Value, Choice and Service”.

The partnership with Dixons has extended Oregan reach into the UK retail market. “We look forward to launching a host of new web applications and services on the Onyx-powered devices, to meet the growing demand from UK customers”, said Oregan CEO, Mark Perry.
