Entone Launches European EcoFriendly WiFi Hybrid TV Receiver

entone imageEntone has released a new Hybrid TV receiver - Kamai for the European market. The Kamai,according to Entone is an EcoFriendly, compact but powerful hybrid HD receiver for live broadcast and over-the-top (OTT) applications.  It offers support the lastest connectivity and features to facilitate a flexible entertainment life style.  With the Kamai operators will be able to meet the challenges of deploying IPTV solutions that will allow for OTT services said Entone.

The Kamai features an integrated 802.11n wireless connector that allows it to connect to any standard WiFi router and operates over any broadband connection including DSL and cable modem.

With optional tuner for worldwide video standards, Kamai provides even greater benefit to end-users without burdening service providers with the costs for broadcast TV delivery. Subscribers can watch their favorite local content live while conveniently accessing Internet content using the same remote control and user interface.

With Entone’s DeepSleep technology the European version of the Kamai uses about 99 percent less power in standby mode. Kamai meets the latest regulatory requirement of the European Commission code of conduct v8, and surpasses energy efficiency guidelines and regulations from the European Union’s Eco-Design Products.

Entone’s family of hybrid devices provide a robust and flexible platform optimized for delivering Digital Video Broadcast (DVB-C, DVB-S2, DVB-T) and streaming services, such as OTT video and Web media services. These hybrid devices support advanced video and audio formats, including MPEG-4 (AVC/H.264), MPEG-2, VC-1, Dolby Digital, Windows Media, and MP3.
