Rovi Licenses Connected Platform to Android Devices

According to the ITVT website the pre-ported solution is expected to be available to CE manufacturers later this quarter. Android devices with the pre-ported app will enable users to share and stream their content from these devices to other connected devices in the home such as connected TV's, network-attached storage (NAS) devices, Windows 7 PC's, set-top boxes and DVR's, throughout the home. Macrovision Change its Name to Rovi Corporation

The company will now officially operate under the banner of Rovi Corporation, and its common stock will trade under the stock symbol ROVI on the NASDAQ Global Select Market.

Macrovision Solutions Corporation announced that Paramount Home Entertainment has agreed to license Macrovision's content protection products, ACP and RipGuard. ACP and RipGuard provide protection against unauthorized copying of content across packaged media such as DVD as well as electronic channels such as the Internet, cable and DBS. Read more »
Macrovision Aquired Muze for $16.5 million

Macrovision said the acquisition will help enhance its offerings, which are "built to enable consumers to continuously explore digital content by allowing them to easily navigate and find entertainment information." Read more »
