Trident Ships New Cinemascope Internet Connected 3DTV Chipset

The Televisions are based on Trident’s 3D Cinemascope technology which includes support to the latest online services such as Yahoo!, Rovi, VUDU, RoxioNow, Pandora, Flingo. The hardware includes Trident’s TV550 system-on-a-chip (SoC) and PNX5120/30 frame rate converter (FRC) to offer true cinematic experience by providing crystal clear 3D images. Read more »

US based Video-on-Demand provider Netflix has launched its VOD subscription service in the UK and Ireland. For has little has GB£ 5.99 (US$ 9.25) in the UK and €6.99 in Ireland, subscribers get instant and unlimited access to a broad range of films and TV programmes. Cox Communications Introduces Cox TV Connect for iPad

Last year this time the tech world’s attention was drawn to the Connected TV platform. This was due to the release of Apple and Google TV. This year the same thing has happen but this time the tone has changed. Notable partners such as Intel, Adobe and Logitech have made announcements saying they are changing their strategy around the Connected TV platform - which mainly affects Google TV. Read more »
Netia Selected Netgem Hybrid IPTV Technology for Poland

Netia started as a fixed line broadband provider expanded added voice and now they are adding Netgem services to offer the complete triple play experience. The Adobe Flash and Adobe AIR platforms have move from being a simple plug-in for desktop applications to being a platform for CE manufacturers to develop solutions for digital home devices.
