Qualcomm Skifta Gone Live for Android Smartphones and Tablets

Qualcomm Atheros said Shifta1.0 for Android Smartphones and Tablets is no longer in beta and has received the approval to be in production. Being the first software to received the DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) certified sticker.  Skita transforms your Android-based phone and tablet into a media remote control. Allowing you to access and enjoy your music, videos and photo while at home or on the road.

Shifta uses your in-home Wi-Fi to connect to your DLNA and UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) certified devices. You can also use 3G to access your file while away from home, whether they are in the cloud are back at home.

Sharing or moving files between devices as become easier with a new desktop media server plug-in for Mac, Windows and Linux. Access to devices such as IP-connected stereos, Televisons, PCs, a Playstation 3 game console and many others is now at your finger tips.

With its built in Shifta Channel Library solution; you have access to Flickr, Photobucket, Soma.fm, Napster, Facebook Photos, Picasa, ShoutCast, Revision 3, TED Talks and more.

Skifta 1.0 for Android version 2.2 or higher is available as a free download from the Android Market.  The Skifta desktop application for remote access to media stored at home (PC, Mac and Linux) is available at skifta.com.
