The ICD (innovative Converged Devices) 15-inch Vega – touchscreen is schedule to launch in the UK this year.  The Android based gadget is to change the way we schedule and manage family appointments and keep in touch with each other.  We were given a sneak preview of it at this year’s CES, according to T-Mobile UK, who is collaborating with ICD to build the Vega; the Vega will be the family hub that will manage all household appointment and calendar events.

From a technical standpoint the ICD Vega will feature a T-Mobile SIM on-board that will allow it automatically sends SMS text reminders to everyone in to family to remind them of an appointment. You will also be able to make phone calls – hands free.  The family hub is a full-featured wireless tablet with Wi-Fi web browsing, on-demand TV, access to social networks, video chat and games, as well as an FM radio for the complete kitchen set-up.

The tablet will be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 250 mobile web processor, with full HD 1080p video playback even when undock from its base.
