Ip.access and AlertMe Collaborate on Femtocell Solution

Ip.access has teamed up with Alertmd to demonstrate how Femtocell can be integrated in smart home energy management solutions.  By integrating ip.access’ Femtocell technology with AlertMe Energy Service  the system automatically detects when phones enter or leaves the house and can therefore turn off lights, radio, television and other home appliances automatically when the house is empty and switch then back on when you return.

NEC Includes TwonkyMedia and MediaFusion in Femtocell Solution

At this year’s Mobile World Congress, NEC demonstrated their Femtocell solution which offers PacketVideo’s TwonkyMedia connected home applications and MediaFusion content management and delivery platform.  The solution is the result of collaboration between PacketVideo and NEC Corporation.  The Femtocell solution is aimed at both consumers and mobile service providers.

picoChip Collaborated With Elliptic on PC3xx PicoXcell SoC Systems

picochipPicoChip, a developer of WiMax and cellular home basestations(Femtocell) annouced that they have partnered with Elliptic, a leading security-based semiconductor IP supplier, to develop the femtocell architecture with embeded security. Femtocells – small, low-cost basestations that provide enhanced cellular services in homes and offices – present unique security challenges because they are directly connected to operators' networks.  So when picoChip was designing its PC3xx picoXcell family of system-on-chip ( SoC ) solutions for the femtocell market, it turned to leading security-based semiconductor IP supplier Elliptic Technologies to help create a secure, standards-compliant architecture.

Airvana and VeriSign Collaborate on Femtocell Security Certificate

VeriSignAirvana and VeriSign, announced that the two companies are working to deploy device certificates for Airvana's HubBub(TM) UMTS Femtocell. The certificates will be embedded into the HubBub UMTS femtocell, allowing operators to authenticate these devices before allowing access to core networks and services.

Texas Instruments, Continuous Computing & mimoOn GmbH to collaborate on Femtocell

Texas IntrumentsTexas Instruments Incorporated (TI) announced the selection of Continuous Computing(R), a leader in wireless protocol software, and mimoOn GmbH, a leader in software defined radio solutions, as third parties to offer integrated solutions for HSPA and LTE enterprise and residential femtocells. Texas Instruments is also working on seperate Wi-Fi home networking (Celeno and Texas Instruments to Enable Next-Generation Cable Modem Gateways) solution with Celeno.
