Rovi is to license its connected platform to Consumer Electronic (CE) manufacturers to integrate it into their devices.  According to the ITVT website the pre-ported solution is expected to be available to CE manufacturers later this quarter. Android devices with the pre-ported app will enable users to share and stream their content from these devices to other connected devices in the home such as connected TV's, network-attached storage (NAS) devices, Windows 7 PC's, set-top boxes and DVR's, throughout the home. Rovi Corporation has decided to spread it tentacles wider in the digital home solutions market place with the acquisition of Sonic Solutions. Both companies made the joint announcement last week that the Rovi will acquire Sonics in through a combination of stocks and shares worth about $720 million US dollars. Catch Media and Rovi have partnered to extend Catch Media digital media offering. Both companies have signed an agreement that will allow Catch Media to integrated Rovi’s entertainment data and technology into catch media’s Play Anywhere entertainment solution platform.  The integration of Rovi solutions into the Catch Media platform is designed to enable users to find information and rich media content about their favourite music and artists in their home media playlists where ever and when ever they want. Macrovision Solutions Corporation today announced the official change of its name to Rovi Corporation, and unveiled its new brand positioning and visual identity. The company will now officially operate under the banner of Rovi Corporation, and its common stock will trade under the stock symbol ROVI on the NASDAQ Global Select Market.
