Screen Dreams has launched its first paid TV application for the Yahoo! Connected TV platform. Screen Dreams specialises in developing Wallpapers, Galleries and Screensavers for flat-panel, HDTVs and DVD players. The new application is to allow users of the Yahoo! At this month’s CE show Yahoo! Debuts a new connected television platform geared towards both viewers and TV programs creators, to enable them to offer more interactive contents to viewers. So far HSN, ABC, Showtime and CBS are partners with Yahoo! And talks are going on with brand advertisers (like Microsoft, Ford and Mattel) to come on board. MIPS and Yahoo have partnered to develop a platform with Yahoo Widgets already integrated. The agreement is that MIPS will develop an optimised reference platform running the Yahoo Widget Engine for digital TV and set-top box applications.  This partnership will enable vendors to develop consumer solutions based on the MIPS architecture incorporating Yahoo Widget Engine. Sonic Solutions, announced plans to introduce a Roxio CinemaNow(R) Widget. Starting this fall, consumers with Internet-connected televisions running Yahoo!
