Affinegy Launches Home Portal Version 2

Affinegy has launch version 2 of its Home Portal software for the connected home user.  Due for release the third quarter of this year; it is target at equipment vendors, broadband service providers and premium care providers.  Affinegy said the upgraded solution will increase revenue streams and offer customers more flexibility. Through it users will securely and easily discover, configure, connect and manage their entire home network.

Home Portal is supplied as an integrated solution with the device to the user.  The browser-based application allows the user to manage other devices and digital content across a wireless home network.

From four core optins (Sharing, Apps, My Home and Settings) the Launchpad users can manage their photos, music, videos and documents so that they can access it whenever they want them – in Sharing. Service providers can deliver new applications that enhance the connected home experience for users to find then in App. The My Home option offers an at-a-glance view of what devices are currently connected to the home network. Settings allow the user to manage permissions, security settings, home portal options and preferences.
