Node-H GmbH Demonstrated 10Mbps HSDPA Femtocell
Node-H GmbH has shown its femtocell protocol software delivering sustained high speed data transfer at 10Mbps using off-the-shelf mobile devices. A showcase was presented to key customers at the 2009 Broadband World Forum in Paris. The software was demonstrated on the Percello PRC 6000 platform. See video of the demonstration below.
PicoChip, a developer of WiMax and cellular home basestations(Femtocell) annouced that they have partnered with Elliptic, a leading security-based semiconductor IP supplier, to develop the femtocell architecture with embeded security. Femtocells – small, low-cost basestations that provide enhanced cellular services in homes and offices – present unique security challenges because they are directly connected to operators' networks. So when picoChip was designing its PC3xx picoXcell family of system-on-chip ( SoC ) solutions for the femtocell market, it turned to leading security-based semiconductor IP supplier Elliptic Technologies to help create a secure, standards-compliant architecture.
Based on the new 3GPP standards Intellinet Technologies has announced the availability of its Femtocell gateway. The new 3GPP standards, allows for the interoperability of
Airvana and VeriSign, announced that the two companies are working to deploy device certificates for Airvana's HubBub(TM) UMTS Femtocell. The certificates will be embedded into the HubBub UMTS femtocell, allowing operators to authenticate these devices before allowing access to core networks and services.
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) announced the selection of Continuous Computing(R), a leader in wireless protocol software, and mimoOn GmbH, a leader in software defined radio solutions, as third parties to offer integrated solutions for HSPA and LTE enterprise and residential femtocells. Texas Instruments is also working on seperate Wi-Fi home networking (
Node-H has integrated its 3GPP femtocell protocol software on the Percello PRC6000 femtocell SoC (System on a Chip) and shown eight calls running simultaneously. This is the first time that Super-Femtocell performance has been achieved on the PRC6000 using a protocol stack from an independent software vendor.
