Landis+Gyr has further solified its position in the South American smart grid market by partnering with Brazilian electricity utility Light in a five year contract worth approximately R$750 million ($313 million USD). The agreement is the largest smart grid project in South American history; under the agreement Landis+Gyr will supply, implement its Gridstream smart grid solution with operation and maintenance of the system.
Landis+Gyr has announced the release of version 3.6 of Power Centerits operating software for demand response and load management applications. Version 3.6 provides support for Gridstream RF network technology used in Landis+Gyr's L530 and L570 load control switches, as well as the L430 programmable communicating thermostat.
Kosciusko REMC, the Indiana based electric cooperative has selected Landis+Gyr’s Gridstream RF Smart Grid solution for its advanced metering project. Starting early 2012, Kosciusko REMC will start rolling out Landis+Gyr’s E350 FOCUS AX-SD residential meters, E650 S4e commercial meters and Gridstream RF mesh network technology. The programme is expected to run for 18 months and include all 18 thousand members.
