Zixi and Netgear have collaborated to develop the first full HD Over The Top solution.  Using the Zixi Video Operating System (ZVOS) the Netgear NeoTV 550 Ultimate HD Media Player is able to deliver live and VOD (Video on Demand) full HDTV over the internet to the viewer.  This collaboration also marks the first time ZVOS is enabled on an off the shelf and high-performance HD media player.

According to Netgear’s home and consumer products general manager they have managed to circumvent the ongoing problem of streaming HD content consistently over the top with the release of the ZVOS based Netgear NeoTV 550, part of the Netgear’s AV Series.

The ZVOS is developed on a patent protected technology that allows the Netgear’s NeoTV 550 to be able to stream HD content form the broadcast and VOD providers on the internet to the HDTV.

One of the key features of the of the Zixi’s platform is its ability to synchronize multiple real-time video and audio inputs during broadcasting.  This enables Zixi to integrate live video feeds to and from different geographic locations in the world and provide a real time interactive television experience.

Zixi’s powered content can also be enjoyed on Apple Macs, PCs and smart mobile devices such as iPad, iPhone and Android powered devices.

“Users no longer have to deal with transcoders or encoders in order to experience full HD over the Internet; with the ZVOS enabled NETGEAR NeoTV 550, consumers now have a complete global solution for streaming real-time HD video over the Internet. Zixi’s partnership with NETGEAR gives customers a reliable, easy-to-use device and platform to experience full, real-time HD streaming over the Internet,” said Israel Drori, CEO and Founder of Zixi.
