Digital Home software provider SoftAtHome, is opening a new office in Dubai to support the current deployment of its technology by Etisalat. As their first subsidiary outside of Europe, SoftAtHome said they want to address the needs of other operators in the region. The SoftAtHome range of digital home software helps operators and 3rd party developers to create innovative and convergent applications for the Digital Home.

The SoftAtHome solution combines services such as security, broadband access, voice, video, content sharing, connectivity or management, and deploy them across different devices in the home including Set-Top Boxes, Home Gateways and Connected TVs.

In 2010, Etisalat selected SoftAtHome to deploy their multiplay offering, including Personal Video Recording, Internet TV, OTT services, IPTV, Video on Demand, digital content sharing, application store and broadband access across the UAE (United Arab Emerates).  Having a Dubai office means that Etisalat will have quicker access to resources, Etisalat have also bought share into SoftAtHome.

SoftAtHome said they selected Dubai because it is strategically placed to address the needs of other operators in the Gulf region as Dubai provides a complete infrastructure and easy access to countries in the Middle East.

"We are very pleased to open our subsidiary in Dubai and to deploy our solutions across the UAE. It represents a key milestone in the development of our company and in our commitment to be successful in the Gulf region," Michel Degland, CEO of SoftAtHome.
