Does The Connected Home Needs Another Protocol?

Depending on the smart appliance you buy you are also making a decision on what communication protocol you want to use.  With the growth in the Internet of Things (IoT) it is even more important because we want all of the devices in our homes to be able to communicate with each other securely.  This is on the backdrop that there are many protocols for the home at the moment.  To add to the complexity or to simplify things a new protocol 'Thread' has been introduced.

Paradox And NEC Europe Sign Reseller Agreement

Paradox and NEC Europe further tighten their partnership by signing a reseller agreement for Paradox Engineering’s PE.AMI Smart City solution.  To support utilities upgrading their grid infrastructure NEC will offer the PE.AMI along with NEC’s Information and Communication technologies and energy solutions.  As part of the agreement both companies will work together on joint promotion activities, trade shows, end user and customers’ seminars.

Connected Lighting Solution From GreenWave Reality

GreenWave Reality is making it easier for energy conscious homeowners to have the lighting design they want without worrying too much about its energy cost. At this year’s International Lighting Fair in Hong Kong, they announced the availability of their Connected Lighting Solution. With GreenWave connected lighting you can control and automate your lighting with a handheld remote or smartphone.
 

GreenWave and NXP Developed Smart IP Lighting Solution

GreenWave has partnered with NXP Semiconductor to develop a new intelligent lighting control and management solution.  The solution is a combination of GreenWave Reality energy management platform with NXP’s GreenChip.  It will allow manufacture of energy-efficient compact fluorescent (CFL) and solid state light to create lights that we can communicate with individually.
