Channel Islands and Isle of Man Get Hybrid TV Services

France’s Neuilly-sur-Seine has partner with Getgem’s hybrid IPTV services to its customer base in Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Neuilly-sur-Seine is already a broadband provider in both areas; with the Netgem solution Neuilly-sur-Seine will be able to Over the Top (OTT) live and non-linear content to Netgem’s hybrid Set-top boxes (STB).
 

Sony To Launch TV Recorder and Media Storage Device, “Nasne”

NasneSony has announced plans to launch a new 500GB NAS device for today’s digital home. The new “Nasne” device as it is called comes with built in digital terrestrial and satellite broadcast tuners.  Nasne works with other Sony Apps such as "Torne" for PlayStation3 (PS3) and "VAIO TV with Nasne" for VAIO so that you can watch and record digital TV and satellite broadcast programs.

Virgin Media Launches TiVo and ‘superfast as standard' Broadband Services

virginmediaWith the Olympics coming to the UK this summer Virgin is gearing to launch its TiVo and ‘superfast as standard’ broadband this April. As they go through their infrastructure upgrade Virgin Media is now offering its customers speeds of up to 30Mb, 60Mb and 100Mb (which will soon be 120Mb). According to Virgin the different categories of digital TV services coming will help its customers take advantage of the new speeds being offered.

Telstra Launched Connected Home Services in Australia

Telstra is in the process of upgrading its infrastructure to introduce Australians to next generation connected home services.  As connected home services begin to take shape in the country Telstra wants to be the key provider of these services.  Telstra is proposing a host of services such as content streaming from ABC’s iView catch up TV and AFL Live, home monitoring, gaming and in home support.

They found that new digital home solutions such as cloud services, social and mobile TV are changing the way we see our home appliances. Also consumer wants more content and connection. They also found that the new connected services have created additional revenue streams for service providers.

Canada's Cablevision Offers Optimum iPad App To Customers

Cablevision has extends its digital TV service with the launch of the Optimum App. for the Apple iPad.  The new app allows you to access hundreds of channels and video on demand (VOD) services on your iPad in the comfort of your home.  The application delivers the full cable television experience to the Apple tablet device, and allows the iPad to function as a handheld television.  The service is free to Optimum cable television customers.

Trident to Showcase Latest Internet Connected TV and Set-Top Box Solutions at CES 2011
