DIRECTV Selects Pace HR34 Server for Home Media Center

DIRECTV has selected Pace HR34 Server to launch its Home Media Center solution.  The HR34 digital home solution, said Pace, is the satellite industry’s first fully multiroom DVR platform. Both companies are looking forward to consumer response, according to DirecTV’s CTO, Romulo Pontual, the Home Media Center will be a first for DIRECTV.  Home Media Center will be able to record and playback different programmes at the same time and offer management access from different devices.

sling mediaEchoStar Technologies, a subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation has selected Broadcom BCM7400 satellite set-top box system-on-a-chip solution for its SlingLoaded 922 high definition digital video recorder. The Slingloaded 922 is the world’s first HD DVR to incorporate place shifing technology, the ability to watch home television on other devices such as laptop and Smartphones.

3view & MaxLinear Collaborate On HD Digital TV Recorder

3view3view and MaxLinear have announced that they are collaborating on the development of a HD Digital TV Recorder, a hybrid IPTV and DVB-T2 set top box for 3view. The new device is to be deployed in the UK, and will enable users to view and record free content on over 50 HD TV channels and IPTV (Internet protocol TV), and will feature an integrated Sky Player and BBC iPlayer allow users to "catch up" on previously broadcasted TV shows on these two networks.
