MIPS and SySDsoft Collaborate On 4G Mobile Handset Android Platform

MIPS and SysDSoft have announced that they have made a break through using Android technology. SysDSoft a supplier of mobile WiMAX and LTE embedded software solution for 4G has collaborated with MIPS to develop the industry’s first LTE protocol stack ported to the Android platform. A break through which see MIPS move closer to becoming major player in Android and 4G solutions.

T-Mobile US is to release its second Android Mobile phone next month (June). The myTouch 3G Slide – as it is called, is an upgrade to the myTouch 3G released last year. The myTouch 3G Slide offers more typing space with a slide QWERTY us who rather a physical button to press than the on screen touch on the myTouch 3G. Also upgraded is the camera which has a 5-magapixel for better resolution.

According to Dobly this is a world first for mobile phones.  The Nokia N8 is based on the Symbian3 OS platform and features Dolby(R) Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound technology.  With the new Dolby Digital sound, owners of the can now expect the best in High Definition sound quality from their mobile.

Renesas SH-MobileHD1 Mobile Phones first Full HD Video Recording and Playback Support

Renesas Technology announced the SH-MobileHD1 application processor (product number: SH7370), the first in the industry to deliver low-power Full High-Definition (1,920 × 1,080 pixels, abbreviated “Full HD”) video recording, playback, and streaming support key for the next generation of IP video applications. Sample shipments will begin on April 23, 2009 in Japan.
