Swisscom Internet Home Gateway To Use SoftAtHome Software

SoftHome has announced that Swisscom has selected their operating platform for the new Internet-Box home gateway currently rolling out to Swisscom’s residential customers. The Internet-Box is complemented by Swisscom’s new fibre-optic network to offer customers internet speed of up the 1Gbps. The Internet-Box offers the latest in wireless connectivity along with parental control for safe and responsible Internet surfing.

Swisscom Launched Quing Home Automation in Switzerland

Swisscom has finally launched their home automation solution, ‘Quing Home’ after announcing plans for the solution last year. The new home automation and monitoring solution is similar to those recently launched by Comcast and Verizon.  Quing Home is the first of its kind to be available to the Swiss public, allowing them to control their home appliances and manage their energy consumption as well as keep an eye on their home.

AT&T is Developing Home Energy Management Solution

AT&T has decided to get in on the home energy management action by indicating that they will be launching their own home energy management platform in the near future.  Jeffery Dygert, the company’s Executive Director of Public Policy broke the news during a panel discussion on the Broadband Breakfast Club; moderated by GigaoM reporter Katie Fehrenbacher. Jeffery said they want to offer the solution so that its customers can get more information about the energy they use within the home.

Swisscom to Launch "Smart Living" Home Monitoring and Automation Services

icontrolLike Verizon and Rogers Cable, Swisscom is planning to offer a home automation and monitoring service to its Swiss customers.  They have teamed up with iControl Networks, the provider of the OpenHome platform to develop the “Smart Living” solution for the Swiss and European markets. Both companies said through the Smart Living platform customers will be to stay connected with their home when away and be able to control home electrical appliances.
