Broadcom Powers LG's Latest Connected TV and Blu-ray Disc Players
Broadcom’s connected digital TV system-on-a-chip (SoC) platform (BCM35230) and other single chip solutions (BCM7633 and BCM43236) have been selected by LG Electronics for its line wireless connected digital TVs and Blu-ray Disc players. The latest chipsets developed with integrated support web media movie services and communications like YouTube, VUDU, Skype, Netflix, Yahoo Widgets and other services. Visitors to this year’s CE show will get the opportunity to learn more about the technology or see it in action.
Broadcom and Philips Home Control have combined their technologies to create a new class of remote control for the emerging connected home appliances. The remote was developed using Broadcom Bluetooth technology and Philips expertise in advance wireless input and control solutions, and features Gestural Control for game consoles and other wirelessly connected devices.
EchoStar Technologies, a subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation has selected Broadcom BCM7400 satellite set-top box system-on-a-chip solution for its SlingLoaded 922 high definition digital video recorder. The Slingloaded 922 is the world’s first HD DVR to incorporate place shifing technology, the ability to watch home television on other devices such as laptop and Smartphones.

Broadcom is promising to change this with its recently released FastRTV SoC solution, a channel change acceleration technology for suppliers of STB (set-top box). Broadcom said FastRTV is will also allow you to change your channels up to 5 times faster.
Leading pay TV provider Sky Deutschland has selected Broadcom SoC solution (BCM7325 and BCM7335) for its next generation HD Set-top Box and DVR (Digital Video Recorder) services. Sky Deutschland provides satellite, cable and internet services to approximately 95 percent of Germany and 85 percent of Austria. The new energy-efficient single chip solution will help Sky to provide multi-channel high definition viewing and digital video recording functionality for subscribers.
