Rovi Licenses Connected Platform to Android Devices

Rovi is to license its connected platform to Consumer Electronic (CE) manufacturers to integrate it into their devices.  According to the ITVT website the pre-ported solution is expected to be available to CE manufacturers later this quarter. Android devices with the pre-ported app will enable users to share and stream their content from these devices to other connected devices in the home such as connected TV's, network-attached storage (NAS) devices, Windows 7 PC's, set-top boxes and DVR's, throughout the home.

Paramount Home Entertainment licensed Macrovision Content Protection Products ACP and RipGuard

Macrovision Solutions Corporation announced that Paramount Home Entertainment has agreed to license Macrovision's content protection products, ACP and RipGuard. ACP and RipGuard provide protection against unauthorized copying of content across packaged media such as DVD as well as electronic channels such as the Internet, cable and DBS.

Macrovision Aquired Muze for $16.5 million

Digital home entertainment company Macrovision Solutions Corp. said Wednesday it agreed to buy Muze Inc., a provider of entertainment product information for stores and online retailers, for $16.5 million in cash.

Macrovision said the acquisition will help enhance its offerings, which are "built to enable consumers to continuously explore digital content by allowing them to easily navigate and find entertainment information."
