Opower and Honeywell announced plans to collaborate on the development of a home energy management solution.  Honeywell will offer its expertise in control system and Opower, their data analysis solution.  The first solution expected from the partnership is a Web-connected programmable thermostat that measures, analyze and reports on the homes' electricity use.

eMeter Completes EnergyIP Integration with CPS Energy's SAP IS-U EhP5

eMeter has announced that it successfully completed the integration of its eMeter EnergyIP platform with CPS Energy's SAP IS-U EhP5 system. This integration enables CPS Energy, the largest municipally owned utility in the United States with a 1.1 million meter service territory in San Antonio, TX, to provide its customers with real-time energy usage information and enhanced metering services. It also represents the first integration in the world between a Meter Data Usage System (MDUS) and SAP's recently released IS-U EhP5 system.

Zunyi Power Selects Telvent for Real-Time Smart Grid Technology

Telvent announced today that Zunyi Electrical Power Supply Company of Guizhou, China has selected its OASyS DNA supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system to accurately collect and analyze real-time data on grid operations for approximately 800,000 customers.

Telvent's smart grid technology will allow Zunyi Power, a utility managed by Guizhou Power, to gather and analyze data via a user-friendly interface that operates in conjunction with current Telvent technology being implemented in all of Guizhou's provincial cities.

CEVA Leads Israeli Smart Grid Consortium In Smart Grid Technologies

CEVA has announced that the Israeli Smart Grid (ISG) Consortium which it helped spearhead has received the backing of the Israeli Chief Scientist under its MAGNET R&D Program. The group consists of seven industrial partners and five academic institutions. It will use the funding for a three to five year development program focused on new technologies and algorithms for the emerging smart grid market, including communication technologies, demand response and consumption forecasting.
