Onkyo has introduced three network and internet-radio-capable, 9.2-channel THX Ultra2 Plus certified AV receivers that deliver all the power, processing, and features to support cutting edge home theater and whole-house entertainment. The three new models, the Onkyo TX-NR1007, TX-NR3007, and top-of-the-line TX-NR5007, will all be shipping to dealers before the end of September. Pioneer will also be shipping their new AV receivers SC-LX82 and SC-LX72 AV in September.

Entropic Communications, a leading provider of silicon and software solutions to enable connected home entertainment is joining forces with the Intel Digital Home Group at the CableLabs Summer Conference 2009 in Keystone, Colo., to showcase the world's first demonstration of the newly ratified Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) Quality of Service (QoS) 3.0 specification over MoCA on a set-top box (STB) platform. The demonstration utilizes Entropic's EN2510 single-chip, coaxial network controller and RF transceiver, which is based on the MoCA 1.1 standard and the Intel Media Processor CE 3100 system-on-a-chip (SoC) based on the company's popular Intel architecture.

Sony on Thursday announced the release of its new BDP-CX960 and the “Elevated Standard” (ES) BDP-CX7000ES 400-disc Blu-ray Disc™ MegaChangers. Sony also announced the BDP-S1000ES single disc ES player expanding the Sony’s Blu-ray Disc line to 13 models offering a broad set of performance and features. The Blu-ray Disc MegaChanger models store and play up to 400 Blu-ray Discs, DVDs, and CDs, allowing consumers to relocate their disc library to a convenient, easy-to-access location. Olive has also annouced the availability of its Opus No. 4 that can store up to 6,000 CDs.
