Vodafone has extends its product range to support its customers in regions where there is limited access to the internet, with the development of the Vodafone WebBox.  Considered to be the first device of its kind; it was developed specially for customers in emerging markets to make internet access more affordable. With no set-up required, the plug and play keyboard converts any standard domestic television into an internet portal, so that its customers have to everyday internet services.

Netcomm Selects Sierra AirPrime For Liberty Series LTE Wi-Fi Router

Netcomm has collaborated with Sierra Wireless to develop a new line of Netcomm Liberty Series LTE Wi-Fi router. Netcomm is hoping to tap into the growing 4G market around the world with this new line of routers that are also backward compatible with third and second generation 3G and 2G wireless frequencies. The new range will use Sierra Wireless AirPrime MC7750 and MC7710 intelligent embedded modules.

Ambient Selects Sierra Wireless AirPrime for Smart Grid Platform

Sierra Wireless announced that Ambient Corporation has selected Sierra Wireless AirPrime embedded modules to provide 3G wireless connectivity for Ambient's latest X-series smart grid communications node, used by energy and utilities companies. The X-series smart grid node is part of the Ambient Smart Grid communications platform, which provides utilities with a critical link in building a modern energy infrastructure that enables connection with micro-generation and renewable energy sources.

The Enspert IDENTITY Mobile TV solution is about to be boosted with additional connected devices.  Enspert demonstrated range of mobile TV solution at last week’s CE Show in Las Vegas. According to Enspert the new line of devices that are coming out this year were designed to reflect the way we work and live. Developed on the open-source Android operating system the new range include VoIP and SoIP systems, including smartphones, multi-device media convergence hubs and mobile hotspots.

Qualcomm debuts Shifta, a media shifting service at CES 2011, one of the technologies we highlight would be debuting there. AzQtel Selects Prodea Connected Home Service for Azerbaijan

Prodea Systems has been selected by Azerbaijan’s WiMAX service provider AzQtel to support its long-term strategy of offering and advance connected home solution. The Prodea platform initial implementation will enhanced AzQtel’s broadband service (known as ‘Sazz’ locally) by offering an App-store and connected life services, which could include video-on-demand, internet applications, home security, personal media and smart home.
