A new 802.11ac wireless communication standard is now going through the rounds to be certified, but already you can see wireless home router in shops and online saying that they are 802.11ac ready. Currently most of the well-known brands (Netgear, D-Link, Buffalo, etc.) have released their 802.11ac home router. Based on the proposed changes for 802.11ac it will take wireless communication to a next level one that offers better quality, faster speed, and more bandwidth; but should you buy one?

Cisco Releases 802.11ac Based Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router

Cisco is offering a new range of home network wireless solutions based on the latest 802.11ac technology. The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router (EA6500) and Universal Media Connector (WUMC710) available this month promises to offer wireless speed of up to three times faster than current 802.11n devices. The router also features Cisco’s latest home network software platform, Cisco Connect Cloud, which offers hassle free network setup and management.

Negear Offers 802.11ac Wireless Home Router (R6300)

Netgear’s is right on the pulse with this one, they have teamed up with Broadcom to create their first 802.11ac base router.  The Netgear R6300 Wi-Fi Router is the first 802.11ac dual gigabit Wi-Fi router of its kind.  With the R6300, you can get speed of up to 1300Mbps or 450Mbps depending on your setup. Because it is based on 802.11ac, it’s suggested that you will get better connectivity for your mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets.
