Gitex, One of the leading Technology conferences in the Middle East, kicks off this week in Dubai. Trident Microsystems, today unveils the world's first integrated 240 Hz digital TV SoC (System-on-Chip) for Android-Based smart televisions. The chip is due for commercial release in the first quarter of 2012, will help digital televisions to offer a more immersive entertainment experience. The new solution comes with an HDMI 1.4a receiver and high speed ADCs to support up to 1080p digital and analog video inputs integrated.

South Korea Up Broadband Speed to One Gigabit

When some of us in the West can brag about having 50M broadband and can only talk about 100M, South Korea is planning to give its citizen broadband speed some of us can only dream of.   According to the New York Times South Korea is moving it broadband speed up another level to one gigabit per second.  The country is piloting the project at the moment and hope to have it completely rolled out by the end of 2012.
