Celeno's OptimizAIR to Power Amino's Connected IPTV Set-Top Boxes

Amino and Celeno are collaborating to develop a new range of whole home wireless networking solutions. Amino’s IPTV Over-the-Top (OTT) solutions is to leverage Celeno’s OptimizAIR to deliver IPTV, multi-room DVR, Over the Top video and Video on Demand (VoD), in high definition wirelessly.  The new range is to allow telecom operators to offer a compelling mix of broadcast, on-demand and content from the Internet including social media, gaming and applications.

Qualcomm Launched Skifta Media Shifting Platform

Qualcomm Atheros has developed a media shifting platform around its Skifta framework.  The new Skifta Media shifting platform will allow CE manufacturers to develop Skifta powered devices that will allow us to wirelessly access and stream entertainment content around the home.  The Skifta Wireless Audio Adapter hardware kit will be the first component to be release – in the first quarter of this year.

D-Link Adds HD Media Router and Powerline Gigabit Router to Amplifi Range

Broadcom Launches OTT Media Player and MoCA 2.0 SoC Portfolio

broadcomBroadcom has launched a range of System-on-a-Chip (SoC) solutions for Hybrid TV and Over-the-Top (OTT) Media Players based on their BCM72xx chipset. According to Broadcom the chips features advance capabilities in processing power that will transform existing digital TVs into smart TVs. They have also launched six new MoCA 2.0 based SoC set-top box (STB) and Hybrid IP Gateway solutions.

UK Retail Chain Dixons To Offer Logik Smart TVs With Onyx Browser

Oregon Networks, the developer of the Onyx media browser for IPTV devices has announced that Dixons of the UK will be using their Onyx media browser in Dixons Logik Smart TVs. The Onyx browser will be on the Logik 23’ LCD TV (L23IPTV), one of Dixons exclusive brands. The TVs are schedule to be available in time for the Christmas shopping, online at currys.co.uk and in outlets of Currys and PC world.

Motorola Mobility Shows How they Plan To Deliver The Connected Home

motorolaMotorola was at this year’s SCTE Show in Atlanta to discuss and show their roadmap for the connected home.  They talked about DreamGallery, an operator’s SDK (Software Development Kit) and how they are working with Shaw Communications to develop a new guide experience for Shaw’s customers based on DreamGallery. Motorola Mobility also launched the Motorola APX3000, a high density Universal Edge QAM and said they have updated some operator infrastructure systems.
