A new technology startup – FutureDash, based in California has launch a new product called GreenDash; a new home energy management software. The GreenDash software will allow consumer network and electronics manufactures to easily add energy monitoring to their products, which would make it easy for home owners to see their energy usage in real-time.

MIPS To Embed Yahoo Widget Engine In Digital Home Devices

MIPS Chip TechnologyMIPS and Yahoo have partnered to develop a platform with Yahoo Widgets already integrated. The agreement is that MIPS will develop an optimised reference platform running the Yahoo Widget Engine for digital TV and set-top box applications.  This partnership will enable vendors to develop consumer solutions based on the MIPS architecture incorporating Yahoo Widget Engine.

LG Released Netflix, CinemaNow and YouTube Friendly Blu-ray Players

LGAt this month’s Consumer Electronic show LG Electronics unveiled a new range of Network Blu-ray Players.  The new players are the first to feature integrated 250GB hard drive, allowing for storage and instant playback of music, photos, personal videos from the web or with its USB Media Plus lets you view family photos, watch videos and listen to music from USB storage devices.

Motorola NBBS Digital Home Management System Now Supports Mediaroom Set-top-box

Motorola logoIPTV operators with Motorola NBBS can now provide additional services to customers with Mediaroom certified set-top-box.  According to Motorola Home and Network Mobility, they have expanded the NBBS remote device management software platform to include Microsoft Mediaroom certified set-top-box, to enable operator to accelerate the introduction of new revenue-generating high-definition IP video experience.

New Roku SD & Roku HD-XR Instant Streaming Player

Roku HD-XRRoku recently added two more devices to its range of media streamers; these were the Roku SD and Roku HD-XR media players.  The Roku media players allow you to stream instant entertainment from Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand and MLB.tv. The Roku players come in three different price range $79.99, $99.99, $129.99. Roku also announced that they will be launching a channel store where customers can add new content channels to their Roku device.
